All those sighing lovers of all kinds of boards and bikes in extreme, they should go to Whistler. And despite the fact that I came rather to look for nice music clubs than a cute skateboarder I must admit that the landscapes there, are amazing and stunning and fantastic. But that, really only applies to the scenery (I mean mommy nature). The Town itself is super crowded and I prefere cow towns. What’s more… on Top of the world I could only climb the day when the only thing I could see were trees closed in by fog. I am a lucky girl… I know. But! Was I almost on the Blackbomb mountain’s top ? Yes, I was. Did I spend 60$ on Peak 2 Peak gondola? Yes, I did. So all were done as planned. As you see I am not a backpacker only, I am also a tourist.
However, if anybody after hard hiking would have the strengh to go out in search of a good concert in Whistler, there is one place you can jump in. I recommend you The Crystal Lounge but not sure if I recommend it fully. I’m not sure if miracle-concerts happen there seldom. Anyways you can go there, have a beer and listen to some good music for sure. Most of the musicians are locals, young, and they’re country fans (That’s fabulous!, Isn’t it?) and you can check them out almost every day except Tuesdays and Fridays.
There are a few other venues where you can hang out and listen to live music. In case when The Crystal Lounge is not enough for you, head to Mallard Lounge, Firerock or Black’s Pub.
Maybe Whistler was not a witness to any great music landmarks but it’s worth going there. Nature it’s beautiful and not everywhere in Canada is possible to listen to good live music after a long day of hiking.
